WEEE Regulations (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment)

All retailers of electrical goods must comply with the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) legislation. The aim of this legislation is to prevent all such waste being disposed of in general landfill sites and to promote recycling of components and materials and thereby reducing the harmful effects of these materials on the environment.

The products that can be recycled for free include batteries and electronic Keep Fit Equipment to include but not limited to treadmills, exercise bikes, cross trainers

When you purchase a new electrical (mains or battery) product from Elverys you can return a similar unwanted item to any of the Elverys stores nationwide or alternatively bring it to your local civic waste collection facility. There is a recycling bin for small batteries in your local Elverys store and head office (See store locator for details).

Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) is taken back free of charge on a one-for one, like-for-like basis. Waste batteries including rechargeable batteries are taken back free of charge. You are not obliged to make any purchase when returning old batteries. Each local authority must also accept household WEEE and small batteries free of charge at its recycling facilities. All WEEE and waste batteries must be recycled and should not be placed in any of your household wheelie bins. Make sure you always recycle all your old electrical goods and batteries.”

If you are getting a new electrical product delivered we can take back your old one to be recycled. Please ensure the old product is disconnected clean and ready for the driver at the time of delivery.
